SEO firm releases study on SEO utilization by gambling sector
An interesting study that relates search engine marketing with the gambling industry has been released recently by Clickthrough Marketing. The study looked at how the top gambling firms employ the best in Internet search terms, keywords and key phrases. Further, it reviewed how organic search strategies, pay-per-click and search engine optimization techniques affected ranking results for all major players.
The Q1 2009 Gambling Sector report gave valuable specific insights regarding Internet search phrases in the on-line gaming environment for the UK market. It compared and ranked the main categories mostly used in gambling-related searches such poker, bingo, betting, casino, fair, responsible and gambling. But more importantly, it assessed the actual cost per click for the top 90% of all searched key phrases. This particular data alone is of vast importance to on-line casinos hoping to improve their customer base.
The report then proceeded with comparisons of the percentage visibility between major on-line gaming players via PPC. Top scorers on the percentage visibility score were William Hill, 888, Bet365, Betfair and Virgin Games, in that order. What is most interesting to read is that Google ranks gambling portals using natural search terms for all the important core search phrases and puts them on a chart for easy view.
Clickthrough Marketing is give away the report free of charge for those interested , especially those in the on-line gambling industry. Additional information can be obtained by Internet marketers during a webinar scheduled April 23, 2009
