Roulette Betting Strategies

Odd or Even Bets
This system is extremely simple and involves placing a bet on either odd or even numbers. Since one of them is bound to come up chances are you will at least split even. You have to watch for a steak of numbers coming consecutively; let’s say 3 or 4 times in a row. If you win – you take your bet and winnings and wait for another streak.

  • Black or Red
  • This system involves betting on a specific color of your choice – black or red. Used quite often by many people over and over again. Because the online roulette table has an even number of black and red plus the house green, chances of one of the colors coming up as a winner is close to 50:50. Bet on a color of your choice, if you win – take your winnings and leave your original bet for the next spin. If you lose – double your bet. Continue to do so if you can afford to but make sure to know your limits as sometimes it is better to take your loss and leave.

    The most popular strategies for roulette

  • Betting the Rows
  • You simply place a bet on one of the three rows. If you win you take the winnings and leave your original bet. Lose or win, simply place a bet for the exact same amount and the next bet you will make up for previous losses plus make some extra. If a losing streak continues – double your bet, just remember your money management as this type of betting can bring you bets very high.

  • Betting the Numbers
  • You place a bet on one of the number combinations, either 1 through 18 or 19 through 36. Payout is 1 to 1, same as in betting on odds or even numbers or color betting. This system differs from others in that it a one-time strategy, win or loose. Using this system you place a bet one or two times at the most. To place the bet wait until your ball hasn’t landed on your chosen half of the numbers for several spins and then make your bet. Good idea to wait for at least 5 spins before making your bet.

  • Martingale System
  • Many players use this one: To play you place a fixed bet and double it every time you lose. Doubling of the bet continues until you get a winning hand. This win will automatically help you recover all previous losses This requires some nerves and luck to keep you in the game.

  • Progressive Betting System
  • This system starts with placing a certain fixed amount on the initial bet. Every time you win you simply increase your bet by that initial fixed amount, and for every loss you will accordingly decrease your bet by the very same fixed amount you started with. What makes this a fairly good system is that your betting pattern follows your game and as you win your bet increases but when you lose, your bet decreases to minimize your loss.

    The roulette game table layout and play are fairly easy to understand and master.

    Since the American version of roulette is more common, I will use it as an example in this part of my eBook. A roulette wheel is round and has 38 individually numbered pockets, in which a rotating ball may land. The color of numbered pockets alternate between red and black with number 1 always being red while pockets numbered 0 and 00 are always green. Placing a single chip in the numbers area you can be a bet on a single number or on a group of numbers, consisting between 2 to 6 numbers. Payout for various number combinations is quite different and here are some examples:

    * Betting on 1 number produces payout of 35 to 1
    * 2 numbers bet creates a payout of 17 to 1
    * Bet on 3 numbers and you will get 11 to 1
    * 4 number bet will give you 8 to 1 ratio
    * 5 numbers bet produces 6 to 1 and it is the only combination where house edge is slightly over regular 5.26%
    * Lastly, 6 number bet will pay 5 to1

    It’s actually not quite as complicated as it might seem and to help you visualize all possible variations I have created this payout table with possible bets, their corresponding payouts, and winning chances.
